The study aims at defining the published intellectual product in statistics as well as defining the most important cited sources through analyzing the university theses and dissertations in order to know the range of using both the old and new sources by researchers in accomplishing their papers. Data were analyzed by using tables for the chronological analysis of sources and the most outstanding authors and titles the researchers depended on in their papers. The most famous foreign and Arabic periodicals used by researchers were also cited . The study uses the analytical descriptive method through analyzing data by using tables. The study has come up to many results the most important one is that the number of the citations cited by theses at department of Statistics, at University of Mosul amounted to 2945 citations. The foreign citations exceeded the Arabic citations which amounted to 2506 citations . The most important recommendation is the importance of mentioning the bibliographical information mentioned in the footnotes and sources completely and accurately .
