Time and Truth in Genealogy and Spinning: Renata Jacobi
Abstract
After the emergence of the ghazal or love poetry as a conceptual unit independent of the lineage, it is the flirtatious introduction in the poem, one of the few revolutionary developments that is recognized in Arab literary history. And despite the fact that some research has dealt with this literary genre, a number of problems remained to be resolved. Whether the spinning may be generated specifically from kinship, or other poetic patterns must be taken into account, it is still a subject of debate, and there is a difference of views related to the dominant external factors that accelerate its development and contribute to highlighting the new concept of love inherent in it.
Is religion the main factor, or monotheism or the Quranic teachings, as confirmed by Muslim jurists in particular? Does it seem convincing to contemplate the economic and social factors, the fragmentation of the Bedouin community, the life of joy and luxury in the cities of Hajj, and the need and poverty of the Hijaz tribes in semi-nomadic conditions.
