Languages of Eyes and its Connotations in Al- Asha's Poetry
Abstract
Since ancient times, man has known other means of communicating with his surroundings other than the spoken audio language, including visual signs and suggestions, especially the eyes, as they are the window to the heart, and they are responsible for communicating many messages, which are the most prominent forms of visual signs indicating meanings, without excessive talking or Searching for words, as is the case with the linguistic sound, and it may be that this proportionality between them and the sound is what paved the way for their entitlement to the term (language), Al-Asha is considered one of the most prominent poets of the pre-Islamic era, as this phenomenon emerged with him, by mentioning the woman's eye (daughter, wife, and lover), the enemy's eye, or the she-camel's eye...etc.The research was based on an entrance and two sections, the entrance included defining (the concept of the language of the eyes), and the first section was devoted to the study of human eyes and their implications in terms of (woman / love), (enemy / hate), relatives / hatred), while the second section included the study of animal eyes and their implications In terms of (the camel, the wild cow).
