The effect of communication technology on informational services
Abstract
The global discoveries that followed the Second World War contributed to a change in the general form of information services and the methods of producing, transmitting and transmitting information to the beneficiaries, and it became difficult for informational institutions not to benefit from modern technologies for the transfer of information, as the need for them became certain and clear. The means of modern communication technology have diversified to include telephone, telex, videotext, satellite, coaxial television and other means that have become readily available to librarians and other information specialists. As a result of the diversity of these technologies, the information specialists have had to become armed with these technologies and their characteristics and specifications in order to be able to choose the appropriate one
