Mosuli Effendis and Their Views towards the Iraqi Throne 1921
Abstract
This research presents the political opinions that were discussed by "Effendis" of Mosul which aroused about whom was going to be the king of Iraq, and whether the Throne would be ascended by a king from Iraq itself or from the outside. These discussions, which were swinging between agreement and rejection, were considered as forums to put forward free thoughts easily. Undoubtedly, these thoughts represented "elites opinion", which were supported by the majority of society. It goes without saying that their political opinions of Iraq future along with the nature of political and intellectual awareness predominant at the time.
