Abstract

The study of the philosophy of religion is of particular importance within the concerns of contemporary Western philosophy today. After passing through the era of strict secularization, Western philosophy has returned to paying attention to issues of religion and trying to understand them due to their vital importance in human society. From this perspective, philosophy today is trying to Repossession religion again and absorb it within its comprehensive system. Even if it is considered to philosophy to be in the position of a strange or non-philosophical other, it cannot help but dialogue with it in order to understand it more clearly, in an effort to explore the mind of religion or what matches the truth within religion. As a result, contemporary French phenomenological philosophy attempted to present a philosophical vision of the religious phenomenon based on the phenomenological method. This attempt, of course, despite all its high professionalism, was not devoid of many difficulties and paradoxes that ultimately led to describing its work as nothing more than a A theological turn in philosophy, a description that carries within it a lot of criticism and defamation. Is it really just a theological turn that should be abandoned? Or is it an original philosophical work with promising results for the field of philosophy of religion? Finally, has contemporary French phenomenology, with its theological interests, actually left the field of philosophy, or has it tried to root philosophy in its living environment
