bn Ul-Jawzy's Opinions of the Sufi Sheikh Siry As- Saqaty
Abstract
Ibn Ul-Jawzy is one of the elder scholars who criticized the mistakes of some Sufi Muslims especially in his book entitled "Talbees Elbees" in which he criticized some narrators, orators, jurists, hermits and rulers. We are interested here in the criticism of some Sufi Muslims since the present paper deals with his opinions of Sheik Siry Sa-saqaty, the mystic Sufi in order to see whether sheik Saqaty was one of the people criticized by Ibn Ul-Jawzy or whether he considers him among the Sufis who adhere to the teachings of Islamic Shari'a . It is clear that Ibn Ul-Jawzy highly respects him and he always praised him. He also admired him, his worship, mysticism, wisdom, preaches and adherence to the teaching of Islam. The paper lists his opinions, which show that he never criticized Sufis in general
