The Khumrah Experience in Arar Poetry: An Analytical Study
Abstract
This research looks into the theme of intoxicating drink in Arar's poetry. The researcher has come to the conclusion that Arar is the master poet of intoxicating drink in this age. In spite of the mature ideas and the new meanings the poet has achieved in the poetry of intoxicating drink, he remained tied to the roots of this subject which extend into the past, specially that of the poet Abu-Noas and the influnce of Al-Khiam's ideas on Rime.
The research treats the theme of intoxicating drink in Azar's poetry, its causes, meanings and thoughts. It also emphasises the new significances which it attempts to achieve, such as the social, human, and moral significances. It treats as well the formal aspects related to this theme, as imagery, language and rhetorical devices. In addition it investigates the question of artistic fidelity in its treatment.
